    Code of Practice 

    The staff must comply with the NDIS Code of Conduct: 

    • Act with respect for individual rights to freedom of expression, self-determination and decision-making in accordance with applicable laws and conventions
    • Respect the privacy of people with disability
    • Provide supports and services in a safe and competent manner, with care and skill
    • Act with integrity, honesty and transparency
    • Promptly take steps to raise and act on concerns about matters that may impact the quality and safety of supports and services provided to people with disability
    • Take all reasonable steps to prevent and respond to all forms of violence against, and exploitation, neglect and abuse of, people with disability
    • Take all reasonable steps to prevent and respond to sexual misconduct

    The staff also must comply with the Human Services Standards:

    Empowerment – Access and Engagement – Wellbeing – Participation

      • The staff will ensure that the participants’ goals for empowerment, access and engagement, wellbeing and participation are being met during the services
      • The staff will work as a team with the participants, their support people, service providers, collaborative partners and community members for the development of positive relationships
      • The staff will deliver services professionally, ethically, with cultural sensitivity, diligence, will sensitively manage information collected

        Workplace Health & Safety

        The staff will manage the health and safety strategies for the participants in the program:

        • Kitchen management and cooking skills
        • Hygiene and safe food handling skills

        Risk and Incident Management 

        The staff must follow the Risk Management and the Incident Reporting procedure to ensure safety for everyone.
